At the top of the house, the Tower Suite faces the sea on three sides. Light arrives early and stays late, moving across pale plaster and stone through the day until the water turns copper at dusk. Windows on every wall hold the coast in pieces — the cove below, the headland to the west, the long blue line where the Ligurian sea meets the sky. The bed sits where it catches the first of the morning; a deep chair waits where the afternoon shade falls.

Above it all, a private roof terrace opens to the sky and the sound of the water below. There is room to set out breakfast, to take a glass of something cold while the swifts cut low over the rooftops, to lie back as the stone holds its warmth long after the sun has gone. Cool floors, soft linen, citrus and salt drifting up from the gardens — the highest, quietest corner of Lumera, with the whole coast laid out beneath you.
